For transitioning and unemployed veterans, this workshop will cover aspects of the job search, and representatives from various organizations will be on hand to explain services available to veterans.

Story Telling & Behavioral Interviewing

Behavioral interviewing is the current interview trend. Questions regarding the candidate’s past are used to predict future performance and fit. Job seekers must be able to tell stories about their previous work history to tie themselves to the position. This workshop combines the behavioral interview format with basic storytelling techniques using the mythic hero's journey.

Showtime: You're On!

A mock interviewing session. Job seekers should submit resumes and identify the position they wish to interview for. Questions will be selected. With evaluation/feedback from the other participants.

Overcoming Job Search Obstacles and Fears

This workshop will address obstacles throughout the job search process: applying online, resumes, networking, employer objections, and confronting individual fears..

What’s on the Inside, Shows on the Outside

A positive attitude is one of the top skills sought by employers. Additionally, it is a critical trait necessary to conduct a successful job search and win that sought after position. Learn techniques that will help you navigate the tough times in the job search. In this workshop you will learn:

  • the components of attitude,
  • three types of attitude displayed by people,
  • techniques to adjust your attitude,
  • how to maintain a positive attitude, and
  • methods to gain control of your attitude and life.
