Position Overview
Under general supervision, serves as a payroll/timekeeping technician for the Ludeman Developmental Center. Serves as a facility timekeeper and payroll officer for an assigned area. Performs technical accounting work for Personnel Services and related expenditures.
Job Responsibilities
40% 1. Serves as a facility timekeeper.
35% 2. Serves as a payroll officer.
10% 3. Serves as a back-up to the Office Administrator Ill by assisting with various functions in areas of Personnel Services, including employee schedules. Receives and reviews computer printouts for the Payroll System. Reviews schedules to verify they adhere to negotiated contractual schedules and guidelines. Assists in completing a quarterly audit of time entered. Separates and distributes employees’ monthly time reports.
10% 4. Serves as a back-up to the Business Office by performing technical accounting work. Assists with various bookkeeping functions in areas of Personnel Services and related expenditures. Receives and reviews original book of entry and relevant computer printouts for Personal Services Management System, General Revenue, Purchase/Payments, Property Control Program, trust, and other accounts.
5% 5. Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college and completion of an approved training course or three years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.
