World Relief has an opening for the Counseling Center Director position. This position is responsible for overseeing the relaunch and clinical operations of World Relief’s Counseling Center, currently based in the western suburbs. This position will be responsible for vision casting, staff and intern recruitment, and practice growth to meet a growing demand for trauma-informed, culturally-responsive counseling. This will include building & launching a new program funding model inclusive of insurance billing. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions):
Practice Management
Lead vision casting and planning for new Counseling Center initiatives, aligned with WR Chicagoland plans.
Develop a counseling center funding model that includes Medicaid & insurance billing, and establish & implement the practice management necessary to ensure long-term sustainability.
Monitor and shape department budget to ensure that expenses do not exceed revenue.
Participate in grant writing for renewal grants and grant acquisition activities for new opportunities.
Oversee the day-to-day management of the Counseling Center, which includes: developing policies/ procedures; setting monthly/annual goals and outcomes reporting; and managing appropriate documentation and reporting systems.
Implement and participate in an on-call system to address crisis situations as needed.
Ensure appropriate files are maintained, and case notes, treatment plans, and mandatory paperwork are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Abides by all HIPAA regulations, protecting patient privacy and confidentiality.
Provide direct service counseling for a small caseload of individuals and families, in compliance with professional ethics and organizational standards.
Clinical/Staff Supervision
Provide individual and group supervision for staff and interns to ensure excellent clinical practices.
Hire, train, supervise, coach, and evaluate Counseling Center therapists and interns.
Provide oversight and guidance to PT practice manager.
Oversee & coach the curriculum development for cultural adjustment groups, and monitor implementation.
Ensure the provision of professional development activities so that staff obtain required CEUs and grow through other localized development activities.
Regularly meet with individual staff and as a team to review cases, do cross-training, and discuss program plans and development.
Internal & External Collaboration
Participate with other program managers and staff in regularly scheduled meetings (including tracking team) to discuss specific client situations and develop effective service frameworks.
Initiate collaboration with other program managers and staff on program implementation and to address client concerns, systemic issues, or situations of conflict, as necessary.
Participate in coalitions and associations in the greater Chicagoland area for the purposes of collaborative funding and programs and professional development.

All Technicians are sent to College of DuPage for classes. Technicians are scheduled for a series of six mechanical and six electrical classes. Classes are during work hours, so Technicians are paid for their time in class. We adjust their hours to spend half their shift on the floor and the balance in the class. Jel Sert pays for this training which includes classroom and lab work. All Technicians are involved in this training despite their experience level.
