Addictions Counselor I

Woodridge Intervention is seeking an Addictions Counselor to join their team. In this role, you will provide group and individual counseling, community support, case coordination and crisis intervention services to clients with a primary substance use disorder diagnosis.   • Complete assessment of each client.
  • Initiate and sustain each individual’s motivation to participate in treatment.
  • Develop a comprehensive service plan for each client.
  • Provide daily treatment and curriculum-based education groups.
    • Minimum Requirements
    • High school diploma or GED and 24 credit hours of college education or accredited training program in substance abuse counseling and/or other human services area. Higher education given preference.
    • Required certifications or license: IAODAPCA certification CADC, or above. LSW, LCSW, LPC, or LCPC.
    • Two (2) years paid work experience in a substance abuse, correctional, or other human services counseling position.
    • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
    • At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
    • Criminal clearances (Act 33 and 34, specific State & child clearances and, if necessary, FBI).
    • Non-communicable diseases physical exam, drug screen.
    • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
