A Safety and Compliance Director position needs to be filled at TransChicago Truck Group in Elmhurst. The Director of Safety & Compliance is responsible for directing and maintaining the health and safety program of TransChicago Truck Group. This position will oversee the development and implementation of behavior-based safety practices, audit functions for health and safety procedures, ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulating bodies. **This role will be onsite M-F at our Elmhurst location, with as needed travel to our other locations in the Chicago-area** Compensation: $110,000-$135,000.  Compensation will be determined based on experience, competencies, certifications, and education. Benefits are included. What you need to succeed (Skills):
- Defines, develops, and implements programs to ensure compliance and proper engagement with rules and regulations of the DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, local regulations and company standards.
- Identify and recommend improvements to health & safety systems to reduce costs, increase productivity and efficiency, and improve the overall safety culture.
- Monitor the development and revision of applicable health & safety regulations for potential impacts on locations and operations.
- Coordinate tracking of company health & safety performance metrics.
- Develop and implement an internal corporate health & safety audit process.
- Partners with location General Manager’s related to facility, security and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure all locations are in compliance with EPA environmental standards and regulations.
- Serves as System Matter Expert that adheres to and proposes best practices and plans for new regulations, policies, and best practices.
- Manages and leads the safety team meetings as well as develops and implements safety training and awareness programs.
- Provides forklift training to employees on a scheduled basis.
- Investigates, analyzes, and reports any injury or vehicle accidents or unsafe events and suggests remedial and preventative actions.
- Maintains DOT driver files & vehicle files as well as performs periodic audits to the DOT driver files to ensure compliance.
- Responsible for running and reviewing MVR reports to ensure compliance.
- Works with CFO & HR team to process vehicle accident insurance claims.
- Manages the administration of the Clearinghouse entries and reporting requirements.
- Administers the vendor certificate of insurance documents.
