The Director of Talent Acquisition will help lead the talent acquisition strategy for Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants while driving our employer brand to attract and engage a diverse talent base. This position requires a fast-paced approach with roll-up-your-sleeves deliverables, while developing and leading a the team of Talent Acquisition Team Members who provide high level staffing support for our restaurants. This role will be responsible for developing strategies that set Cooper’s Hawk apart within the restaurant industry with a focus on new technologies, social recruiting, sourcing platforms and candidate engagement. In addition, the Director of Talent Acquisition will ensure that the employment brand effectively reflects our purpose & values as well as the “why” Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants is the best place to have a career. Responsibilities:
Owner of the company’s hourly Team Member staffing function- existing restaurants, new restaurant openings and new concepts.
Led and grow a highly effective team to deliver strong results, while continually developing the skills and capability of those Team Members.
Closely partner with SVP, Operations and field leadership on growth goals and support strategies.
Help enhance Cooper’s Hawk employment brand, from content of job descriptions, advertising, career site, through social media and candidate communication. Strategically partner with Marketing (Branding/Social/Digital/CRM) in efforts to attract a diverse workforce, to develop a positive and targeted candidate experience and to position Cooper’s Hawk as an Employer of Choice.
Bring fresh ideas and insights to Cooper’s Hawk’s field Talent Acquisition strategy in support of business goals/strategies while in alignment with our purpose & values.
Manage and continually optimize a recruiting process from lead generation to hire, driving efficiency and candidate conversion with streamlined processes. Continually incorporate Cooper’s Hawk values into the recruitment process, focusing on the identification, selection and retention of a diverse and talented workforce.
Identify and implement innovative ways to source candidates and to develop partnerships that will build talent pipelines (i.e. colleges, specialty organizations)
Partner with HR peers in all aspects of the candidate and new hire experience to enable retention efforts.
Partner with the VP, Talent Acquisition to evolve and maintain a strong TA Metrics dashboard. Ensure timely and accurate communication of employment related metrics to identify issues and trends.
Support the ongoing evaluation of current and new Talent Acquisition systems and tools. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on our ATS, and related integrated systems, maximizing its offerings.
Create and/or enhance recruiting and hiring tools, processes and training for Hiring Managers across the field organization.
Support HR compliance in all the states we operate.

We pay $2.00 per hour shift differential for all time worked on 3rd shift. *Rate of pay depends on one’s experience, education, and skills.

All Technicians are sent to College of DuPage for classes. Technicians are scheduled for a series of six mechanical and six electrical classes. Classes are during work hours, so Technicians are paid for their time in class. We adjust their hours to spend half their shift on the floor and the balance in the class. Jel Sert pays for this training which includes classroom and lab work. All Technicians are involved in this training despite their experience level.
