The Village of Bensenville is looking for an Engineer to join their team. This full-time position supports engineering functions in the Village’s Public Works Department and reports to the Engineering Manager. The role involves both office and fieldwork, including plan reviews, plan preparation, construction inspections, project management, and consultant coordination. The salary range for the role is $83,458.00 to $116,840.00 per year. - Manage and oversee capital projects, including roadways, utilities, stormwater management, parks, and public infrastructure.
- Review and prepare engineering plans, construction documents, and private development plans.
- Conduct construction inspections and manage contract administration for infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and public agencies to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Assist in the development of long-term Capital Improvement Plans (CIP) and budget preparation.
- Apply for and manage state and federal grants, including preparing necessary documentation.
- Work with residents and businesses to address concerns, provide project updates, and ensure public engagement.
- Maintain accurate project records through GIS and assist with Village mapping efforts.
- Ensure compliance with Village, State, and Federal engineering standards and regulations.
- Participate in meetings and prepare reports related to construction bids and consultant selections.
- Assist in engineering design standards, construction details, and field surveys for municipal projects.
- Prepare engineering plans and specifications for in-house roadway and utility projects.
- Prioritize safety and adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
- Complete all mandatory training as assigned.
