The Illinois Tollway has a Labor Relations Analyst position available. The Labor Relations Analyst will provide general support to the Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action/Americans with Disability Act/Labor Relations (EEO/AA/ADA) Office in all activities. This role will assist the EEO/AA/ADA, Labor Relations Office with a variety of task involving highly confidential and sensitive information, processes and procedures relating to the collective bargaining agreements, data collection and processing, and report preparation. Additionally, will assist with clerical tasks and office organization. Salary ranges from $80,000 – $90,000 annually. Essential Job Functions

  • This position reports to the EEO Officer and the Labor Relations Manager.
  • Provides support in accomplishing all responsibilities related to the Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs), including, but not limited to, all duties and responsibilities related to the coordination and implementation of the CBAs.
  • Provides administrative assistance in accomplishing those responsibilities including drafting correspondence to the labor unions(s) regarding necessary information from the Authority pertaining to policy or programming.
  • Conducts research projects to gather data for use in negotiations. Conducts independent research to aid in the preparation of material used in pre-arbitration meetings and grievance reviews.
  • Responds to requests from Authority Counsel as requested.
  • Serves as a liaison between staff and departmental personnel with various union officials. Attends Labor/Management meetings, as needed, and keep accurate records of items discussed and agreed upon.
  • Ensure processes and procedures relating to the collective bargaining agreements are addressed consistently and as effectively and efficiently as possible, as directed by the EEO Officer.
  • Ensure Tollway compliance with all grievance decisions.
  • Assists with grievance and/or arbitration procedures, including scheduling meetings and preparing pertinent documents.
  • Confidentiality is extremely important in this position, as the Labor Relations Analyst will frequently have access to disciplinary action, salary information, allegations of discrimination, harassment and retaliation, legal settlements, requests for ethics guidance, and other highly confidential personnel-related information.
  • Provides general support to the EEO/AA/ADA Officer in all activities related to this position.
