The DuPage County Health Department is hiring for a Maintenance Technician for their new facility with a start date of June 2, 2025. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing assigned Health Department equipment. This role requires you to be skilled and semi-skilled in maintenance, repair, alteration and remodeling. Work will involve cleaning services and less complex maintenance tasks at the new state of the art facility. You will also be required to follow proper cleaning and maintenance techniques and to safely operate heavy-duty floor and carpet care equipment, power tools and general hand tools.  This is a full-time position with a generous benefit package. Full Time – Flexed Schedule
Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 2:30pm through 11:00pm
Saturday and Sunday 9:00am through 5:30pm
37.5 Hours Per Week
- Preventative Maintenance:
- Performing regular inspections and maintenance on building systems and equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety systems.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Equipment Maintenance and repairs:
- Maintaining and repairing equipment used for patient care, such as wheelchairs, exam tables, and sterilizers.
- Addressing and repairing building issues, such as leaks, electrical problems, and equipment malfunctions.
- Safety:
- Ensuring the safety of the facility and its occupants by maintaining fire alarm systems, emergency power generators, and other safety equipment.
- Communication and coordination:
- Communicating with staff and management regarding maintenance needs and issues.
- Coordinating with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance.
- General Maintenance and other duties:
- Performing general maintenance tasks, such as painting, cleaning, and carpentry work.
- Assisting with other tasks as needed, such as moving equipment or furniture, or helping with special projects.
