American Academy of Pediatrics is seeking an Applications Development Manager to join their team. You will manage the design, development, testing, and support of the American Academy of Pediatrics enterprise cross-functional, multi-platform software applications, and the design, development, and testing of corrective fixes, enhancements, and smaller work efforts in support of business operations. Assist with the development and implementation of technical strategic priorities.
A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $115,563.65 – $121,983.94. Compensation decisions take into account a wide range of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, geographic location, business needs, and organizational policies. Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage the design and development of new applications, systems software, and enhancements to existing applications.
  • Assist the department leadership with strategic direction for applications effectiveness and efficiency. Stay abreast of emerging technology trends and provide recommendations on new or improved software systems to enhance functionality and increase delivery capacity.
  • Analyze, define, and document requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, and internal and external controls.
  • Manage and provide strategic and technical guidance to the application team in support of business operations to ensure expected application performance levels are achieved.
  • Collaborate with development team and users to understand the scope of work, priorities, and requirements for development and work towards design consensus.
  • Assist agile teams with work effort estimates and development of project plan details and technical specifications. Serve as primary liaison between development staff and product owner when necessary.
  • Supervise and mentor assigned staff and encourage a work environment that promotes inclusion and belonging of all staff. Ensure staff operate in a fiscally prudent manner, maintain confidentiality, operate with the highest ethical standards, and provide excellent service to members and volunteers. Provide leadership and guidance to staff on technical functionality, resource management, and project management to ensure expected applications performance levels are achieved.
  • Perform applications programming activities, including coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and modification.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems, liaising with vendors as needed.
