The role involves preparing machine tools, loading raw materials, and ensuring the equipment operates efficiently and accurately. Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup and Calibration:
- Prepare CNC machines (such as lathes, mills, or routers) for production by setting up tooling, fixtures, and workpieces.
- Install and align cutting tools, tool holders, and other necessary equipment to ensure proper machine function.
- Set machine parameters such as speed, feed rate, and depth of cut according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work orders.
- Production Operation:
- Operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as cutting, drilling, milling, grinding, or turning metal and other materials.
- Monitor machine operations, adjust settings, and troubleshoot to maintain production quality.
- Perform test runs to ensure accuracy and make necessary adjustments.
- Quality Assurance:
- Inspect parts during and after production using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Perform routine quality checks and document measurements, noting any deviations or defects.
- Communicate with Quality Control personnel to resolve any non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Machine Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment, including cleaning and lubricating machines to ensure smooth operation.
- Report any machine malfunctions or potential hazards to the supervisor and assist with troubleshooting and repairs when necessary.
