The Village of Oak Brook Development Services Department is seeking candidates for the open position of Permit Coordinator. This position provides customer service to building contractors and the general public while supporting the Development Services Department in daily tasks. Will respond to inquiries, processes daily workflow, and assists in the maintenance of accurate record keeping. Below lists the responsibilities:

  • Provide front counter service to building contractors and general public.
  • Receive and process building permits, applications, and payments.
  • Enter data in the online building permit portal.
  • Assist phone callers to schedule building inspections, meetings, property complaints, etc.
  • Provide follow up with contractors and property owners on incomplete or outstanding permit issues, concerns and questions.
  • Prepare Certificates of Occupancy/Compliance.
  • Close out files and filing.
  • Archive/scan closed permits, plans, etc. into the Laserfiche Repository.
  • Provide coverage during time off for the Senior Permit Coordinator and Planning Technician.
  • Respond to FOIA for building-related inquiries from Village records.
