The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is seeking a fundraising professional to lead the effort in conducting research and analyzing data to ensure an accurate and robust fundraising database. This position will provide data analysis and help calculate return on investment for corporate sponsors and use data to inform strategic decisions regarding revenue growth. Some tasks include:

  • Prepare in-depth confidential research profiles using a wide variety of biographical, organizational, and financial sources, websites, library, and other external sources of public information.
  • Analyze and synthesize accumulated information to assess financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, giving propensity, and connections. Evaluate results to develop and implement further research strategies to assist staff with cultivation and solicitation plans.
  • Plan and implement regular database screenings, analyzing data, and making recommendations to maximize solicitation strategies.
  • Plan and facilitate prospect review meetings, support staff portfolio review, update prospect ratings, and review and improve internal prospect tracking procedures.
  • Collect data and help sponsors calculate their return on investment.
  • Advise staff on how to tailor sponsorship materials based on research gathered on targeted companies/categories.
  • Coordinate surveys and the collection of data on demographics, purchasing habits, sponsor recall and loyalty and report results to staff and sponsors.
  • Follow policies and procedures supporting best practices, ethical and professional research standards.
  • Update and maintain donor data and routinely audit system to ensure data integrity and strengthen system reliability. Troubleshoot functionality errors and unusual data entries, identify causes, and implement corrective action.
  • Provide training for staff in the proper use of the constituent database.
  • Coordinate implementation of system upgrades and patches with IT staff and software provider.
  • Research and recommend the purchase/renewal of research resources, publications, and services.
  • Develop and run reports, queries, and mailing list segments.
