Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential, educational and therapy services to infants, children, teens and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. They are seeking highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teachers. This is a Life Skills Teacher position at the Day School with openings in Bloomingdale, Elgin and Geneva, IL. The starting salary is $61,500 – $65,000 based on qualifications and experience. After your first year the salary will increase by $5,000 ($66,500 – $70,000 based on qualifications and experience). Additionally, all Teachers will receive a $3,000 contract incentive bonus each year after the first year. They offer a comprehensive benefits package.
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students based upon their individual needs.
- Provide clear, consistent structure for the classroom, ensuring that the academic, social, and emotional needs of each student are met.
- Draft, create and monitor IEPs for assigned students in classroom.
- Supervise and provide feedback for Paraprofessionals.
- Teach during our ESY (Extended School Year).
