Loaves and Fishes is seeking a p/t Facilities Manager who will work alongside Loaves & Fishes staff and volunteers to ensure buildings and grounds are maintained, operating, clean, safe and secure, and their vehicles and equipment are operating effectively. Conduct routine inspections of buildings interior and exterior to identify maintenance needs.
Plan, schedule and document preventative maintenance and repairs/renovations on building structure, equipment and vehicles.
Maintain maintenance records at all facilities.
Troubleshoot and address equipment malfunctions promptly.
Manage relationships with external vendors for specialized repairs and service.
Monitor interior and exterior areas of building for food-grade level cleanliness.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations and building codes.
Implement and enforce safety standards in all maintenance activities.
Collaborate with relevant authorities for inspections and certifications.
Develop and implement emergency response plans for building and equipment failures.
Assist with developing and managing the facilities budget.
Identify cost-savings opportunities without compromising safety or functionality.
Assist with future building enhancements/equipment requirements at both L&F and spoke distribution locations.
Maintain clear communication channels with staff and volunteers regarding facility-related matters.

To get this job, you typically need a Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with electrical, hydraulics, programming, and mechanical PLCs is required.
We pay $2.00 per hour shift differential for all time worked on 3rd shift. *Rate of pay depends on one’s experience, education, and skills.

All Technicians are sent to College of DuPage for classes. Technicians are scheduled for a series of six mechanical and six electrical classes. Classes are during work hours, so Technicians are paid for their time in class. We adjust their hours to spend half their shift on the floor and the balance in the class. Jel Sert pays for this training which includes classroom and lab work. All Technicians are involved in this training despite their experience level.
