One-Stop-Operator Update
Dave presented the OSO report, there have been changes to the report. The report now reflects the referrals made to the partner agencies in the Center. Referrals are broken into three categories: WDD referrals, partner referrals and human service referrals. Dave explained that every customer completes a navigation form which contains questions designed to generate referrals based upon the responses given. For October-December, there were 645 responses to the navigation form. Overall, the most referrals are being made to WDD for training and job search services.
WIOA Fiscal Report
Joe Cassidy presented the fiscal report. Expenditures are on track, the Center is meeting the Minimum Training Expenditure (50%) requirement and is also on track to meet the 80% expenditure requirement by 6/30/2020.
WARN Report
Jamie presented the WARN report. The Rapid Response Liaison continues to make presentations to companies about services. There was an information session conducted in Spanish at Pheasant Run. WDD has partnered with World Relief to assist laid off employees from Plated Fulfillment Center as many of them are immigrants. Lisa explained that it is critical to reach the Dislocated Workers, especially those who are not on a career pathway. Marketing efforts are underway to attract those workers into the Center.
workNet DuPage Update
Lisa provided the workNet DuPage update. Lisa reminded the group she has been working on the Local Plan for the Center and reviewed the highlights. The Local Plan aligns with the State and Regional Plans which are all being developed. The Local Plan will require Board approval, it will be sent out for comments and suggestions. It will be posted for public comment for 30 days as well. Approval is required by 3/30/2020.
Illinios Workforce Innovation Board Presentation
Tom Wendorf, Local WIB and IWIB member presented to the group. Tom discussed the structure and responsibilities of the IWIB and how those relate to the Local boards across the state.
Video Success Story: Healthcare Talent Pipeline
workNet DuPage and Edward-Elmhurst hospital partnered to deliver incumbent worker training to employees at Edward. The program has been successful and Edward plans to run another cohort in the summer.

All Technicians are sent to College of DuPage for classes. Technicians are scheduled for a series of six mechanical and six electrical classes. Classes are during work hours, so Technicians are paid for their time in class. We adjust their hours to spend half their shift on the floor and the balance in the class. Jel Sert pays for this training which includes classroom and lab work. All Technicians are involved in this training despite their experience level.
