Chair Wollensak presented opening remarks and discussed board engagement and expectations of members. She encouraged the board to review the center's annual report.

One Stop Operator and Youth RFP Update
Jamie remined the Board that the One Stop Operator contract with the Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce ends on 6/30/21. The Required Partners in the Center who contribute to the cost of the OSO met with WIB liaison Ian Hardie to discuss the scope of work for the OSO. Based upon a review of the role, it has been agreed upon by all parties that it will be a PT role, not a FTE roll as it has been previously. The RFP review team will be comprised of WIB members as well as representatives from the Required Partner agencies. The RFP will be posted on Monday, February 1st. It will be posted in the Daily Hearld, the County website as well as distributed to a Bidder’s List. It will be posted for a minimum of 30 days to comply with DOL guidelines. Jamie will keep the Board aware of any developments as it relates to the OSO procurement.

WARN Report
Jamie presented the WARN report. This report includes a lookback from March-December of 2020 as well as the most recent WARN notices received by the Center. One notable event is the BP event which will impact 241 workers. The HR representative informed the Rapid Response Liaison that most will receive significant severance packages, so that may impact the number of individuals seeking workNet services.
OSO Report
Dave Sabathne presented the OSO report. Center traffic is holding steady, and many have indicated that they prefer to receive services virtually rather than in person.
Fiscal Report
Member Cassidy presented the fiscal report. The only area that is of concern is the 1A spending, which Lisa Schvach will address in her update.

We pay $2.00 per hour shift differential for all time worked on 3rd shift. *Rate of pay depends on one’s experience, education, and skills.

All Technicians are sent to College of DuPage for classes. Technicians are scheduled for a series of six mechanical and six electrical classes. Classes are during work hours, so Technicians are paid for their time in class. We adjust their hours to spend half their shift on the floor and the balance in the class. Jel Sert pays for this training which includes classroom and lab work. All Technicians are involved in this training despite their experience level.
