Job searching can be challenging—especially when it feels like age may be creating barriers to employment. Join us for an engaging session designed specifically for job seekers age 50+.

Presented by Courtney Hedderman of AARP, this session will help participants recognize the value of their experience, address age-related challenges in the job search, and build confidence in today’s evolving job market.

Courtney Hedderman
Senior Associate State Director – Advocacy & Outreach, AARP Illinois

Courtney Hedderman joined AARP Illinois in 2005 and leads advocacy and grassroots outreach efforts related to federal and state health care policy. Her work also includes developing community education and outreach programs, building relationships with community partners, and supporting AARP chapters.

Her outreach work includes communities within Illinois Congressional Districts 3, 6, 11, 14, and 16. She has also contributed to national AARP advocacy campaigns addressing prescription drug costs, Medicare, health care policy, and issues affecting older adults.

Prior to joining AARP, Courtney served as Public Policy Director for Health & Disability Advocates, a policy and advocacy organization serving older adults and people with disabilities.

Courtney holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Illinois and a bachelor's degree in political science from Ball State University.
