Habitat for Humanity’s Naperville ReStore is looking for a dependable and customer-focused Donation Driver to join their team. As a Donation Driver, you will be responsible for safely picking up donated furniture, appliances, building materials, and other household items from homes, businesses, and community partners and delivering them to the ReStore. You’ll be one of the first faces their donors meet, making your role an important part of creating a positive donation experience while helping generate revenue that supports Habitat for Humanity’s affordable housing mission. This is an active, hands-on position that is ideal for someone who enjoys driving, working with people, and being part of a team. Pay is $18.00 an hour. Some responsibilities are the following:
- Donation Pickups & Driving
- Safely operate Habitat ReStore vehicles to complete scheduled donation pickups and deliveries.
- Drive local routes efficiently while following all traffic laws and company safety procedures.
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Safely load and secure donated items for transportation.
- Navigate routes using GPS and other routing tools.
- Maintain accurate pickup and delivery records.
- Ensure donations arrive safely and are delivered to the appropriate location.
- Donor & Customer Service
- Provide friendly, professional service to donors during pickups.
- Represent Habitat for Humanity positively in the community.
- Communicate with donors regarding pickup schedules, locations, and donation requirements.
- Carefully handle donated items and protect the donor’s property during pickups.
- Thank donors for supporting Habitat for Humanity.
- Assist customers and donors at the ReStore when needed.
