The Glen Ellyn Park District is looking for someone to provide customer service to their members and customers. Under the direction and supervision of the Facility Manager and/or Asst. Facility Manager, and the PT Guest Services Coordinator, the Front Desk/Guest Services Representative is primarily responsible for providing quality customer service to anyone who enters the building or calls the facility seeking information or assistance. This is a busy and fast-paced facility that requires frequent interaction with members, renters, and the public to promote programs and services, perform registration transactions, and assist with clerical support for management staff. Additional duties include but are not limited to, informing program participants of class cancellations or changes, handling and balancing cash and other POS transactions, typing, filing and data entry, maintaining confidential information, assisting with special events and performing other duties as assigned. Pay is $15.00 – $17.00 an hour.
Education, experience, and training:
- The ideal candidate will be outgoing, friendly, and dependable with a desire to serve others.
- Requires strong people and customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with members, guests, and other staff.
- Substantial computer and keyboard skills required with an aptitude for learning a multi-layered recreation software application.
- Prior cash handling experience and strong general math skills are highly desired.
- Accuracy and the ability to follow through on detailed work is essential.
- Practical organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be dependable, self-disciplined, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to shift priorities easily.
- Effective problem-solving skills with the capacity to act calmly and efficiently under pressure or in difficult or emergency situations.
- The successful candidate must project a professional appearance and maintain confidential information.
- Possess strong safety awareness and demonstrate good judgement and follow best practices.
- Must be CPR/AED certified or obtain within 6 months of hire (GEPD will provide this training when needed).
