The Lombard Park District is looking for candidates to join their Before/After School Program. Below lists the positions and job descriptions.
- School Site Supervisor: The Club Rec Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Before and After School Program at an assigned school site and developing weekly lesson plans that support engaging daily activities for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Activities may include games, homework assistance, arts and crafts, outdoor recreation, and other enrichment opportunities. The Site Supervisor serves as the primary point of contact for program participants, families, and staff, while acting as a positive role model who demonstrates respect, responsibility, and enthusiasm. This position is responsible for supervising age-appropriate activities and ensuring a safe, supportive, and fun environment for all participants.
Previous experience working with school-age children is required, with a genuine interest in youth development, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. The ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with children, parents/guardians, team members, and management is essential. Candidates must be able to work both independently and collaboratively and respond calmly and appropriately to behavioral concerns, incidents, and emergencies. $18.00 – $20.00 an hour. - Assistant Site Supervisor: The Club Rec Assistant Site Supervisor is responsible for assisting with the development of weekly lesson plans and leading and/or supervising a variety of age-appropriate daily activities while maintaining a fun and safe environment for participants. The Before & After School program takes place in local schools for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Activities may include games, assistance with homework, arts and crafts, outdoor activities, etc. Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating respect, responsibility and enthusiasm. Previous experience and a desire to interact with school-age children is required with the capacity to provide quality customer service. Ability to communicate effectively with both children and adults while working collaboratively with co-workers and supervisors is essential. Capacity to respond calmly and appropriately to behavioral challenges and emergencies. Additional duties may include room/activity set up and breakdown, student check-in and check-out, administering first-aid, cleaning, and other duties as assigned. Assistant Site Supervisors are expected to work the entire school calendar year as well as early dismissal days, school days off and seasonal camps as available. Must commit to the entire season and attend mandatory orientation, training and staff meetings. $17.00 – $18.00 an hour.
- Counselor: The Club Rec Counselor is responsible for assisting with the supervision of children in our before and after school program at various local schools. Counselors help run games and activities, assist with homework, and provide a safe and fun environment for students. Previous experience and a desire to interact with school-age children is preferred with the capacity to provide quality customer service. Ability to communicate effectively with both children and adults and work collaboratively with co-workers and supervisors is essential. Additional duties may include room set up and cleaning, attending staff meetings and training, and other duties as assigned. $15.00 – $17.00 an hour.
