The DuPage County Health Department is looking for two new team members to join them working at the New Crisis Recovery Center in Wheaton. They are looking for coverage, Thursday through Sunday and Sunday through Wednesday for the second shift. Salary is $15.00 an hour. *Salary may increase based on experience. In this role, you will be providing cleaning services and less complex maintenance tasks. This position requires you to have the ability to follow proper cleaning and maintenance techniques and to safely operate heavy-duty floor and carpet care equipment, power tools and general hand tools. Part-time employees may be eligible for select benefits on a prorated basis.
Responsibilities:
- Sweeps, scrubs, mops, washes, strips, waxes, and buffs floors; dust, waxes, and washes windows, blinds, walls and woodwork.
- Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and kitchen areas and replenishes supplies.
- Vacuums rugs; polishes metalwork; sanitizes water fountains; waxes woodwork and doors; washes windows, walls, stairwells, and elevators.
- Pushes, pulls, and operates powered cleaning equipment such as an auto scrubber, buffing machine, carpet extractor, wet/dry vacuum, etc.
- Performs general waste and hazardous material removal.
- Labels, mixes, and cleaning solutions according to instructions.
- Troubleshoots and cleans equipment; inspects work for cleanliness standards.
- Perform some routine grounds maintenance work such as shoveling snow, and salting walkways.
- Performs routine and less complex building maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, painting, and plumbing repairs.
- Provides back-up for the delivery of mail and supplies between locations, which includes opening buildings.
- Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to patient privacy laws; adheres to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality.
- Maintains required training, licensure, and/or certification; shows sensitivity and understanding of other ethnic groups and cultures; participates in emergency response activities as assigned.
- Some assignments may require driving vehicles regulated by the Department of Transportation.
