The Glen Ellyn Park District is looking for a Facility Custodian to join their team. Under the direction and supervision of the Custodial Operations Supervisor, the PT Facility Custodian will be responsible for providing quality customer service through facility cleanliness, room set-up and take-down, and light maintenance as needed and able. Duties include but are not limited to, cleaning and stocking restrooms, general cleaning of program rooms and common areas, disinfecting high touch points, picking up and removal of trash and recycling, cleaning and maintaining floor surfaces, washing windows and other glass surfaces, trained to open/lock and secure the facility when assigned, assisting with snow removal at entrances as necessary, and other duties as assigned. This is an at-will position. Various shifts available Monday – Saturday, 12-19 hours/week. Evening and weekend shifts are priority. $16.00 – $18.00 an hour.
Education/Experience/Training:

• The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, dependable, and service-oriented with an eye for detail.
• Previous custodial or housekeeping experience is required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
• Effective customer service and communication skills with the ability to speak and understand English.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience working with tools and equipment related to facility cleaning, including hand and power tools is a plus.
• In good physical condition to be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, with manual dexterity and enough strength to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Must become CPR/AED/First Aid certified which will be provided by the GEPD.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Will be required to pass a post offer criminal background check.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
