The Village of Glen Ellyn is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join their team. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for implementing and monitoring a variety of human resources programs including but not limited to: recruitment and selection, benefit administration, compensation review, performance evaluation, workers compensation, unemployment, safety administration, employee wellness, and training. Work requires the exercise of initiative, integrity and discretion. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Serves as a resource to departments on policy interpretation, strives for consistent application of employee programs between and within departments.
  • Conducts recruitment and selection activities.
  • Ensures all employment practices and procedures are consistent with applicable Federal and State laws.
  • Administers the Village’s compensation systems.
  • Assists in the preparation of the annual human resources budget and overall personnel budget for the organization.
  • Oversees the administration of provided Village benefits.
  • Communicates and educates employees on benefit programs, safety, wellness and other personnel policy information.
  • Facilitates employee training programs across departments.
  • Conduct annual Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) reporting.
  • Assists with a variety of human resource projects.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the above listed functions.
