Wayne Township is seeking a reliable, organized, and community-oriented Full-Time Office Support Staff/Driver to assist with Food Pantry operations and general program support.
This position is set to 32 hours per week and is compensated based on experience, with paid holidays, health insurance, and pension enrollment. The regular work schedule will be Monday through Friday, with occasional adjustments for special events or operational needs. Starting pay is $15.00 – $17.00 an hour.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Perform food recovery and delivery services, including food pickups and drop-offs.
    • Assist with Food Pantry operations, including client check-in, food distribution, traffic control, and inventory-related activities.
    • Support online pantry orders, holiday assistance programs, and other special events.
    • Maintain reports and data entry, including Link2Feed reporting and volunteer tracking.
    • Provide customer service by answering phones and assisting walk-in visitors when office staff are unavailable.
    • Participate in required training, community outreach activities, and fundraising events.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support daily program operations.
  • Qualifications:
    • Must possess a valid Illinois driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
    • Ability to operate Township vehicles safely and responsibly.
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
    • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with volunteers, clients, and community partners.
    • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
    • Experience operating a pallet jack is preferred; training will be provided.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform a variety of physical and administrative tasks.
