The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Switchboard Operator I for the Shapiro Center located in Kankakee, Illinois to perform routine work in operating a Department of Human Services, 24-hour, facility switchboard carrying a heavy traffic load. Talks to individuals during the operation of the switchboard. Serves as receptionist and receives and sorts facility mail. Performs routine clerical tasks. Salary range is $45,936-$58,596 a year. Responsibilities:

• Perform routine work in operating a Department of Human services 24-hour, facility switchboard carrying a heavy traffic load.
• Respond to and maintains records for emergency calls such as fire, medical, police etc.
• Serve as receptionist.
• Receive and sort facility mail.
• Perform routine clerical tasks involving the operation of simple manual or automated office equipment.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the duties enumerated above.
