Beginning July 1, referrals will move to the State’s new referral system through Illinois workNet/Service Finder. This means the local referral spreadsheet and workNet DuPage online forms used previously will no longer serve as the primary referral tracking mechanism.
The new system is intended to create a more consistent statewide referral process, improve coordination across partner programs, and provide better visibility into referral status and follow-up. Because Service Finder information supports the referral workflow, each partner should make sure their organization’s Service Finder information is accurate and up to date.
Please review internally who within your organization will be responsible for sending referrals, receiving referrals, and responding to referrals in the new system. Partners should also review the Illinois workNet referral system training materials and confirm that appropriate staff have the necessary access.
