What do Patient Care Technicians do?

Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) play an important role and are at the front lines of patient care. They provide assistance, medical attention, emotional support and personal care to patients. The primary function of the PCT is to assist and support the Professional Registered Nurse in all aspects of patient care.

As a Patient Care Technician, you will

Provide emotional support and personal care to patients
Report observations and any change in patient condition
Measure height and weight and take temperature
Record vital signs
Perform routine clinical tasks
Assist patients with activities of daily living
