The Forest Preserve seeks a Seasonal Wildlife Custodian. This position performs cleaning and basic maintenance on Wildlife Conservation Center buildings and equipment. Pay is $10.00- $20.00 an hour.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain entryways, floors, sidewalks, tables, shelving, countertops, and other surfaces using hand tools, vacuum cleaners, and cleaning chemicals. Perform seasonal duties such as snow removal and salting.
• Monitor facility conditions and mechanical systems and notify management of any maintenance issues.
• Change garbage cans and empty recycling bins.
• Assist with setup for special events, programs, and group visits.
• Assist wildlife staff with cleaning and routine maintenance of animal rehabilitation equipment.
• Clean, sanitize, and deodorize restrooms. Replenish restroom supplies.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks including changing lightbulbs, hanging pictures, and cleaning sink traps.
• Monitor the inventory of custodial and miscellaneous supplies and report needs to management.
• Assist in receiving supply deliveries.
• Foster a working environment that promotes safe work habits; Become familiar with and observe all applicable safety rules, policies, and work procedures; Follow all safety rules that pertain to the duties performed and support all aspects of the District’s safety and risk management program; Keep work area clean, orderly, and free of hazards; Immediately report all unsafe conditions and incidents.
