Acme Industries is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer specializing in CNC Turning processes to support complex contract machining operations across aerospace, energy, heavy equipment, and industrial markets.
This role is responsible for developing, programming, and optimizing vertical and horizontal turning processes, with a strong emphasis on process ownership, cycle time reduction, quality robustness, and scalable production readiness.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience programming and supporting multi-axis turning platforms – including turn-mill – and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-mix manufacturing environment. Salary Range: $85,000-$115,000 per year. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Job Duties:
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for CNC turning operations
- Vertical turning centers
- Horizontal turning centers
- Multi-axis turn-mill platforms
- Create and maintain CNC programs using TopSolid (or equivalent CAM systems)
- Design tooling, fixturing, and workholding strategies
- Lead process prove-outs and first-article execution
- Drive cycle time and throughput improvements
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues on the floor
- Collaborate with operators, quality, and engineering teams to ensure stable production
- Support quoting through manufacturability input and time estimation
- Document process standards and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with customer and regulatory quality requirements (e.g., AS9100 environments)
