Position Overview
Under direction, on an assigned shift at the Joliet Inpatient Treatment Center (JITC) Mental Health (MH) Program, serves as Administrator on Duty (AOD). Provides nursing leadership and gives direction to unit staļ¬; maintains unit coverage; reports unusual incidents to oļ¬ duty administrative staļ¬; relieves unit Registered Nurses for breaks when indicated; monitors proper implementation of nursing procedures and provides direct assistance on unit and any shift.
Job Responsibilities
1. On an assigned shift at the Joliet Inpatient Treatment Center (JITC) Mental Health (MH) Program, serves as Administrator on Duty (AOD).
2. Monitors nursing coverage on treatment units and deploys staļ¬ and authorizes call-backs to maintain adequate coverage.
3. Provides professional nursing care.
4. Prepares shift report for Administrative Staļ¬.
5. Responds to emergency requests for admissions from community hospital emergency rooms or police departments.
6. Identiļ¬es staļ¬ education and training needs and works with Associate Directors of Nursing (ADONs) to develop follow-up education plans.
7. Completes special projects or reports, as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Hospital Administrator. Attends various facility and Nursing Department committee/workgroup meetings.
8. Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Requires (a) graduation from an approved nursing education program resulting in an associate or diploma degree in nursing and two years of progressively responsible professional nursing experience; OR (b) a bachelorās degree in nursing and one year of professional nursing experience; OR (c) a masterās degree in nursing.
2. Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
Conditions of Employment
1. Requires the ability to serve on-call on a rotation basis, after business hours, weekend, and holidays.
2. Requires ability to serve on an on-call basis.
3. Requires the ability to obtain the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certiļ¬cate.
4. Requires the ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
5. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
6. Requires ability to pass a drug screen. On January 1, 2020, the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act made it legal for residents over the age of 21 to produce, consume and sell cannabis in Illinois. Please note that although the law has changed, the Department will continue to enforce the Departmentās zero tolerance Drug Testing policy. The use of unauthorized drugs, including cannabis, by an employee, regardless of the position held is prohibited.

We payĀ $2.00 per hour shift differential for all time worked on 3rd shift. *Rate of pay depends on oneās experience, education, and skills.

All Technicians are sent to College of DuPage for classes. Technicians are scheduled for a series of six mechanical and six electrical classes. Classes are during work hours, so Technicians are paid for their time in class. We adjust their hours to spend half their shift on the floor and the balance in the class.Ā Jel Sert pays for this training which includes classroom and lab work. All Technicians are involved in this training despite their experience level.
