The DuPage County Health Department is looking for a new team member at our Addison Group Home to work as a Residential Support Specialist. Possible schedule for this position includes working:Sunday and Monday: 7:00am – 3:00pmTuesday-Thursday – typically 8:00am – 4:00pm with one late day until 7:00pmIf your passion is a desire to help others and to make a difference in people’s lives, then apply today and join our team! We at the DuPage County Health Department, value our employees and take great pride in providing the ability for them to have a good work life balance.This Full-Time position offers a full, DuPage County, benefit package which includes 12 paid holidays, 3 weeks of paid leave per year.ResponsibilitiesServes as primary case manager for 10 clients, provides skill training to meet client’s assessed needs and to enable clients to live as independently as possible.Acts as client advocate to facilitate access to resources and services and works collaboratively with providers to achieve client goals and to aid clients in crisis situations.Develops and maintains client IM+CAN’s and completion or coordination of other required forms and acts as liaison between healthcare resources and clients.Participates in client staffing and team meetings and maintains collaborative relationships with co-workers to effectively support clients.Demonstrates effective, independent judgment and discretion while making task-related decisions.Meets established productivity standards and completes accurate and timely documentation of services provided to clients.Completes other duties as assigned.The role of a Resident Support Specialist also involves serving as an on-site team lead under direction of an Adult Intensive Services Supervisor. Job responsibilities involve providing and coordinating day-to-day tasks necessary to support the clients and their needs in a supported setting.RequirementsCompletion of a bachelor’s degree in psychology, Social Work or related field, and one year of behavioral health experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must possess a valid State of IL Driver’s License and possess a good driving record and must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds.The preferred candidate will be skilled at projecting the compassion and sincerity required to establish and maintain clinical rapport with clients and responding with sound judgment even in emotional situations. Skills in educating and role modeling including money management, medication self-sufficiency, and activities of daily living are vital to success in this role.
