The Elmhurst Park District is seeking a Facilities Specialist to join their team. The Facilities Specialist team plays an important role in maintaining safe and clean District facilities. They are looking for someone with previous custodial experience, attention to detail, and an independent worker. As Facilities Specialist I, you’ll be responsible for performing general custodial and maintenance duties. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Disinfect and clean sinks, toilets, urinals, dust and disinfect furniture and fixtures.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets, rugs, floors, matting, and dry mop, wet mop and sweep floors and corridors and use floor scrubber when appropriate.
• Refill dispensers such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper.
• Collect and remove garbage and recycling materials.
• Perform room setups and takedowns as requested.
• Ensure opening/closing procedures such as unoccupied rooms and storage areas locked, building vacant at closing, doors and windows secure, lights out, alarms.
• Sweep, shovel, snow blow and salt walks if assigned.

The Elmhurst Park District has a part-time job opportunity as Rec Station Leader with their Before & After School Program. The Environmental Health Team at the DuPage County Health Department is expanding and looking to fill positions on their team. They have an opening for an Environmental Health Specialist I, at the Westmont location. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting inspections of permitted facilities (restaurants, other food service establishments, schools, daycares, pools/spas) & engage in environmental health related activities; gain knowledge, interpret and applies rules and regulations of state law and local ordinances in a consistent manner. Responsibilities:

• Performs routine compliance inspections of retail food service, mobile vending, temporary food vendors; schools; child-care and nursing home facilities; public swimming pools; groundwater sourced private water systems; private sewage disposal systems; vector/animal disease surveillance, collection, and abatement; and other environmental health issues.
• Prepares electronic inspection reports.
• Documents all violations issues notices of corrective action and ensures future adherence through periodic follow up visits.
• Communicates clearly with permit holders.
• Responds to citizens’ complaints as they relate to environmental health issues.
