The Glen Ellyn Park District is looking for a Park Maintenance and Forestry Assistant to join their team. The Park Maintenance & Forestry Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of park maintenance duties depending on the time of year. Duties may include, general park and trail maintenance, assisting with basic tree care including planting, watering, pruning and removal, monitoring tree inventories, ongoing ecological restoration with invasive plant control, landscape bed maintenance, assisting with snow removal and monitoring ice surfaces, and other park maintenance projects. May also assist with special event set up and take down. The individual must be able to work well independently with minimal supervision, as well as effectively on a crew. Prior experience driving a truck and operating landscaping equipment (including mowers, chippers, string trimmers, chainsaws, stump grinders, and other hand tools), is highly desired. The individual must be able to perform labor-intensive tasks such as dragging brush, planting large-diameter trees, and participating in large scale restoration projects in varied weather conditions. An IL Pesticide license is preferred and a C-class driver’s license for driving a truck with a trailer. Occasional weekend and evening work may be requested if available. IMRF benefits are offered with this position. Average of 28 hours per week year-round with reduced hours during the winter and more hours during the spring and summer based on the needs of the department and District.

• The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have previous maintenance experience and demonstrate a strong interest in park operations and arboriculture.
• A minimum of two years of experience performing landscaping, horticultural, conservation, or tree-related activities is preferred.
• Knowledge of common Midwest tree and shrub species, as well as native grasses and forbs.
• Experience and comfort using various landscaping tools and equipment such as mowers, chainsaws, chippers, etc.
• Possess or obtain a valid IL Pesticide Operator license within three months of hire.
• A valid IL driver’s license is required with Class C designation or ability to obtain within three months of hire. Familiarity with the Glen Ellyn area is helpful.
• Must be in good physical condition to perform manual labor with prolonged walking and/or standing, and the ability to lift, move or carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Majority of work is outdoors in all weather conditions.

Fuel Tech is hiring for a Project Engineer. The Project Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day project engineering activities. May also be involved in the installation, start-up and troubleshooting of the equipment at the project site. Works closely with his/her supervisor and may be functionally assigned to a Project Manager for a specific project. During the project life cycle the project engineer may be required to generate submittal documents, conduct shop inspections to assess ongoing progress with outside vendors and generate reports. Responsibilities:

• Prepares detailed project engineering designs for small to medium projects including development of the flow and pressure tables for the process flow diagram, pipe sizing, instrumentation selection, and pump and control valve sizing and selection. Ensures that all equipment and services meet applicable codes and standards for design, safety and quality. Additionally, the project engineering shall ensure that all designed meet the client specifications.
• Produces (with the help of the CAD dept where necessary) and utilizes all engineering drawings and other engineering deliverables necessary to construct the project including P&ID, fabrication, BOM, O&M manual, FAT documents, and vendor drawings.
• Develops RFQ, solicits quotations from qualified vendors, evaluates quotations and reports recommendation to the assigned Project Manager or supervisor.
• Generates and processes equipment and electrical/controls (in conjunction with the Electrical, Instrument and Controls Engineer) purchase orders and follows-up on delivery of items. Coordinates orders and deliveries with mechanical, electrical and structural fabrication vendors. Responsible for drafting a CAR or NCR documents as needed for assigned projects.
• Supervises and monitors equipment fabrication including system modules, equipment enclosures, tanks, chemical process vessels, etc.; document results of equipment inspection and testing through written reports and photos.
• Schedules equipment shipping including shipping between vendors and to customer.
• Performs field equipment startup, commissioning and prepares all logs/records/reports to document the process and results.
• Communicates project status through project reports, meeting minutes, action lists and all other required communications.
• Maintains awareness of technical developments in assigned areas. Recommends new products or improved sources for goods and services to the supervisor or Project manager
• Adheres to Fuel Tech policies, procedures, safety plans and assigned goals.
